What is a Psychic Mediumship Reading?

As a follow up question to What is a Psychic Reading, this is the obvious candidate.

So – what IS a Psychic Mediumship reading?

Whereas a Psychic Reading is aimed and meant for answering queries relating to the here and now, a Psychic Mediumship reading has an entirely different objective.

It is meant for hopefully connecting with those who have ‘crossed over’ to the other side, those loved ones who are sadly no longer with us.

As a rule of thumb, it follows similar guidelines for preparation as a normal Psychic Reading, but some other tools can be used, although I have used Tarot or Oracle cards to establish the link, starting as a standard reading and then crossing into the mediumship side. 

Sometimes it can happen involuntarily! Hey if they wanna be heard then sometimes they come knocking!

It has to be said we can’t guarantee we can get through to the person you want, like a Psychic Reading you will sometimes hear from those that you need to hear from. 

And I have discovered that if the person you want to hear from was a little quiet or reserved in life, they will ‘follow’ the first person contacted and speak alongside them.

I can work hands free, as do most mediums, but I do also use a photo to connect and whenever possible, a physical object that used to belong to them. 

This is not unlike using psychometry to establish a link, though some consider that to be a separate skill entirely, I personally feel it is very closely related.

Psychometry is the ability to use an object to connect with any energy attached to it and therefore to the person who used to own it.

There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to do it. Use whatever technique suits YOU. 

Some may consider this to be risky but you could use an Ouija Board.

Thanks to Hollywood, this has a bad reputation, but it is, after all just another tool and if used correctly and sensibly is perfectly SAFE! I don’t use one myself but have attended Ouija sessions or seances, as they are also known. 

Is it easy to learn how to become a Medium?

No – is the simple answer, it’s a skill you either have or do not have.

To be able to learn or develop the skill is not impossible, as long as you have an open and receptive mind, then there’s no reason that someone cannot learn how to be a medium.

It takes time and patience. If you have no luck in your first few attempts, then do not panic, it can come to you in time.

Can we talk to ‘Evil Spirits’ or can they come through?

That’s a question I get asked from time to time.
In a one on one reading then the chances of contacting a ‘negative’ energy are slim to say the least. 

On a paranormal investigation, well yes, I have contacted some ‘shady’ fellows, but it’s impossible to become possessed, though a medium can channel the person, taking on a mannerism, or even perhaps shades of the person’s voice.

Once the link is broken then that’s it; it is recommended though to take time out after such an event and perhaps step away from the locale for a while.

They CANNOT follow you home! (Again – thanks Hollywood) so don’t panic!

Mediumship is a fascinating area of Psychic Phenomena and has been with us for centuries.

Soothsayers, Shamans and Witch Doctors have used the skill for ages, and it’s even used by practitioners of Voodoo (again not evil, thanks Hollywood AGAIN!)

Whether it’s achieved through tools or not, whether it’s on a one to one basis or in front of a paying audience, mediumship has been a draw for the general public for a long time, and will be for the foreseeable (no pun intended!) future.
