What is a Psychic Reading?

I am always amazed by how many people I have seen at psychic fairs who when they approach our stall say ‘I’d love a reading but I am too scared’. So… I think it’s best to start to with what a psychic reading is NOT.

It is not fortune telling.

A psychic reading is not going to give you the lottery numbers, tell you when a tall dark handsome stranger will cross your path or predict death and disaster for you or yours. (I have never seen anyone’s death) You see the future is not fixed, we all have free will and our actions have a massive effect on what actually happens.  An example of this is if you were told you would get your dream job at an interview…then you didn’t turn up for the interview.

Whether you have a specific question you want answered or just want a general reading one thing I have learned to trust is that if a message needs to get through to the person I am reading for, it will come through very clearly…even if it doesn’t relate to the question I have been asked. While you may have a specific question, the spirit realm may realise you are asking the wrong question, focussing on the wrong thing and will want to ensure you get pointed in the right direction.  A common example of this is the person who is between relationships asking when /if they will ever find love again. Any answer may well focus on the need for self love if the persons self esteem is low. A low self esteem can mean you are not fussy enough about who you get into relationships with!! So – what IS a psychic reading? 

The best way to answer that is to explain what happens when I do a reading either face to face or over the phone.

I need your first name. Some readers may also like your date of birth/birth sign. This helps me tune in.

I will also ask if you have a specific question or want a general reading. You don’t have to tell me what the question is but getting YOU thinking about what you want from the reading puts the right energy into the reading.

I will ask if you have a preference for a particular deck of cards, or another tool. Some readers work ‘hands free’ without any tool.  But if you want a specific tool pick your reader with care. Palm reading and I Ching are specific tools that not all readers are trained in.

With all that established I should have a connection to you and your energy (yes even over phone lines or video link) that enables me to receive the information you need. I work with my guides helping me (and then talking to your guides/ angels).

And then……anything can happen. But nothing is guaranteed in a reading. I have been known to get nothing (and give a full refund). That is rare but sometimes people put up barriers that mean I can’t tune in. It is a two way dialogue between my energy and yours…but you have to be willing to take part.

Assuming we get a good dialogue going the information comes to me in different ways. It may be a certain part of an image jumps out at me from a card. It may be something you say that opens a door in my mind. My guides may put images into my head, phrases may jump into my head, or a song comes to mind.

I will relay the information as best I can. If it doesn’t make sense now it may make sense later so remember what is said.  But remember spirit want to get information to you that will help you. This means the information I get is what you need to hear even if it is not what you want to hear. Please don’t shoot the messenger!

Very often a reading may focus on what your own intuition is telling you. Sometimes the reading is only to validate what the person I am reading for already knows…

A reading can result in you getting validation that you are doing things right, guidance on what you need to focus on, love and support from someone in spirit or any combination of the three.  If you are open to the process you will receive the information you need to avoid mistakes and make the most of your circumstances.
